Yasmin Kim Georgie
Ms. Georgie is currently a PhD candidate in computer science in the Adaptive Systems Robotics group at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research project, “An Embodied AI Approach to Measures of the Self”, aims to identify prerequisites for the development of an artificial self, and to explore computational and behavioral measures of selfhood that can be applied to embodied artificial agents.
Ms. Georgie received a master’s degree in Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2019. Her master’s thesis, “A perceptual decision making EEG/fMRI data set” focused on analyzing a simultaneously acquired EEG/fMRI dataset in a perceptual decision-making task. Ms. Georgie obtained her B.A. in Behavioural Sciences from the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo in Israel.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Georgie has several years of experience working as a translator and academic editor of doctoral dissertations, chapters, and papers in quantitative and qualitative research methods, across various disciplines.
With a passion for interdisciplinary research and scientific writing, Ms. Georgie’s research interests include cognitive developmental robotics, machine learning, cognitive neuroscience, and philosophy of mind.
As an adjunct lecturer at the Touro University Berlin, Ms. Georgie is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and expertise with her students while continuing to pursue her own research interests. She teaches the Senior Honors Seminar.
